I wanted to share my recent fiasco with all of you. The Cheer Booster Club has traditionally made the DVD for the Senior Banquet with AV Productions. I followed suit and submitted all the pictures and music to AV a month ago.
First they could not use the CD of music I made from iTunes, so I went back home and made a copy in Media Player. BOTH CDs played just fine in my computer and in my car. Anyway, they had it ready within just 3 or 4 days. I took it home, watched it, the photos were (just) o.k. but OMG the music skipped. I watched it on the computer and in the DVD player to make sure it was the DVD.
I took it back and they were shocked that the music skipped. Now, several years ago I accepted that Gods purpose in life for me was to be the learning curve and he has given me plenty of opportunities to serve my purpose. I constantly hear that we have never had that problem before and I am patient until we work it out. So, this issue did not surprise me at all. They made a second copy including one for each senior. I just thought 'it was a fluke and would not happen again. I was wrong, when I got around to watching the DVDs again, the music skipped AGAIN on all the copies but now in a different place.
I went back, they were even more shocked. He downloaded the music himself and put it on the third copy. When I picked it up yesterday, he told me that if this one did not work he did not know what to do and would have to throw his hands up. Last night I watched it again and YES these copies all skipped (in an even different place) AGAIN.
Not knowing what to do since he was DONE, I prayed, and then I pulled out the yellow pages. At 8 oclock this morning I called Cheryl Matlock with Home Video Studio at 686-9600. I told her my story and she sympathized with me and had me go straight over to her studio.
Of course it skipped on her player also. She agreed to download the music again, rip the music off of AVs DVD, and place the music back on with the photos. I picked it up at lunch, watched it, it was GREAT! Cheryl is making us the four copies as I write this and she is only charging us $12.95 each copy plus the music downloads. I offered to pay her for her time, she refused, she just wants us to pass her name on to others. Cheryl was my Angel today! Now I can breathe and enjoy the banquet.
Please pass on her name to everyone you know in any other booster club, PTA or whatever. I am going to ask her to get onto the vendor list at MISD so that the schools may have another GREAT resource. I plan on using her for all my future video needs.
