8th Annual Home Video Studio Getaway
Taking Care of Business!
Home Video Studio is returning to Walt Disney World for its 8th annual Getaway convention on July 30 - August 3, 2008. Studio owners from across the world will be in attendance at Home Video Studio's premier training event to be held at the beautiful Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida. The Getaway caps off with the annual black tie Hanley awards ceremony - Home Video Studio's version of the Oscars! You don't want to miss any of the excitement at this year's Getaway!

Time to Start Thinking Hanleys!
Home Video Studio owners will soon be sending in their videos to be judged for this year's 8th annual Hanley Awards. There are 34 categories, including Best Documentary, Best Short Video and Best Use of Special Effects - just like you find in the Oscars!
It's an honor to even be nominated for Home Video Studio's version of Hollywood's highest recognition. Videos from nearly 50 studios in HVS' international franchise are eligible to compete in this contest. The gala Hanley Awards ceremony is August 2, 2008 during Home Video Studio's annual Getaway convention in Orlando, Florida.

2nd Annual Home Video Studio Canned Ham Contest
 Home Video Studio Owners are asked to write a poem on why they love Home Video Studio. The lucky winner gets a canned ham and a $50 voucher for film transfer. This year's winner was Jim Zalzalah - Home Video Studio - Oregon, IL. Here's what he wrote:

The Great American Home Movie Project
Producer/Director Robert Hanley, the founder of Home Video Studio has started archiving America's home movies. These 8 mm, Super 8mm and 16 mm films have been around since the 1920s with their heyday in the 50s, 60s and 70s. That's over 80 years of American history- personal histories that are fascinating to watch!
See backyard barbeques, Model T's rolling down dirt roads, small town fish fries, New York City in the 40s, families at the beach, dance recitals, baby's first steps, WWII, and Fourth of July parades from across the country. These home movies provide a different view of history that gives insight into the American spirit.
Home Video Studio plans to use this nostalgic film to make a feature length documentary entitled the Great American Home Movie Project.
