Bob Brown - Editor and Researcher
Bob has been a friend and colleague of HVS founder Robert Hanley for many years now and has worked for HVS since 1995. He successfully ran Robert's home video studio in Indianapolis for several years before becoming an editor and researcher for HVS. Bob was awarded the HVS Associate of the Year Award in 2003.
He has been a filmmaker and a "lover of film" for most of his life, starting, as many of our HVS owners do, shooting shorts on 8 mm film. In the 1980's, Bob was involved in four or five feature films, working as a script supervisor and assistant director. He also acted in three of the movies. He then produced a 10-minute short in 1986 to win a director's job on his next feature film (Two Wrongs Make A Right). Bob later took a full year off to write a full-length screenplay.
In 1991, Bob began developing his love of photography by working in the field of "street photography" around the Midwest. His unique work (mostly black and white) is periodically on display in Indianapolis.
Bob is also an accomplished musician, playing guitar since he was 12-years old. At age 19, he went on the road for many years as a touring musician. He played behind such national acts as: Sonny and Cher, Little Eva, and Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels. In his "spare" time, Bob learned how to rebuild and run theater projection equipment from an old, experienced technician who had been in the business since the 1930's.
HVS is very pleased to have Bob's talents on staff here.
